Continuing professional development is the learning you do after your initial qualification, and the record you keep of it.

Credits, points, hours and minutes are all ways of expressing the same thing: measured learning time.

Courses, webinars, podcasts, written learning, conferences, workplace learning and self directed study.
Is CPD a qualification?
No. CPD is ongoing professional learning, and accreditation of it is not the same as a regulated qualification.
Checking a claim
If a course says it is CPD accredited, ask what is accredited, by whom, and for what reference. A claim you can verify on a public register is worth something. One you cannot verify is worth nothing.
Getting your learning accredited
If you deliver CPD and want it assessed against published standards, registration is free and tells you whether you are in scope before any fee.
